Dr Patrick McComiskey (Chair)

A chemical engineer by profession, Dr. McComiskey has spent the last twenty years of his career as a director and shareholder in a number of hi-tech companies. He has participated as an angel investor, and his present business interests centre on the promotion of spin-out companies from universities, and the development of a substantial European property portfolio.

Hal Wilson

Hal Wilson

Hal has over a decade of venture capital investment experience gained in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. He is a director of: Lagan Technologies, Audio Processing Technology and Replify. In 2006 Hal led the sale of Crescent’s investment in Avalon Instruments to Perkin Elmer Inc. Hal joined Crescent in 2002 from Dublin based Trinity Venture Capital – Ireland’s largest dedicated technology focused venture capital fund.

Richard McConnell is currently CTO at Aepona, responsible for the company technical strategy including product direction, product management and industry standards involvement. Prior to Aepona Richard held an number of senior technical and operational positions in growing and innovative telco software companies including COO at Mobile Cohesion, Group Vice President of Carrier Products at Openwave and CTO of APiON.

Fergus McIlduff is a Chartered Accountant and joined E-Synergy in December 2009 from Ernst & Young’s Mergers and Acquisitions team. During his time at Ernst & Young, Fergus managed a wide range of business transactions including acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, MBIs as well as equity and debt fundraising. Fergus is an investment executive and manages the NISPO Invest Growth Fund, Invest Growth Proof of Concept Fund, Ulster Innovation Fund, and Queen’s University Belfast Innovation Fund.

Anne O’Leary

Anne O'Leary

Anne began her career as an Engineer for the South West Water Authority in Plymouth. She later moved to the Department of the Environment in Cork, and then to S.M.C. as Manager of an Engineering Design Software Dept. In early 1990 Anne acquired the department from S.M.C. and started CADCO Ltd. CADCO became the Autodesk Distributor for Ireland in 1990, and for Northern Ireland in 1993. In 1995 Anne added Documentum to CADCO’s portfolio of products and services. CADCO was eventually sold to the Techdata Group, the largest IT distributor of hardware and software products globally.
