Replify solves a problem that is simple to describe but very hard to live with: users experiencing poor application response times, delays when downloading or uploading, or slow viewing of web pages. The impact is more than just user frustration; it’s lost productivity and a breakdown in critical business processes which rely on users exchanging the latest information, working from current versions of documents, meeting records compliance requirements and avoiding creating stale local copies of key documents.
The problem arises when a combination of limited network bandwidth and network latency (the round trip time) reduce the flow of data dramatically and things that work for users on a local LAN become unusable for those working remotely. With Cloud Computing – everyone becomes a remote user and the problem has to be dealt with if these financially compelling propositions are going to be successfully adopted.
The established solution to this problem is “Application Acceleration” also known as WAN Optimization and WAN Acceleration. Replify think beyond that in terms of “Remote Application Usability” because the ultimate answer isn’t just to make the network appear faster, it’s to make the user’s experience totally independent of the network altogether.
We approach this in two independently applicable ways:
A software-only Application Acceleration product which delivers the performance of a specialized device in the form of a virtual appliance which can run on any of the popular virtualized server platforms. This can be deployed at site and/or individual PC level to provide the most flexible and cost-effective solution in the market today.
A local data store that persist when the network connection is lost. Users have the best possible experience accessing, modifying, creating whatever content or documents their business requires from their own PC, and behind the scenes our Application Acceleration product uses miniscule amounts of bandwidth, when network connectivity is present, to synchronize everything with the central repository, be that SharePoint, a fileshare or an eDRMS.
