Configuration Videos

These short guidance videos assume you have already set up and performed initial configuration of your Reptor Accelerator. Within several short steps you can provision your deployment and accelerate your application server traffic to remote clients.

  • Configuring the Reptor Enterprise Manager
  • Configuring the Reptor Virtual Appliance

Reptor Enterprise Manager

Note: You can increase the disk space allocated to your Reptor Enterprise Manager.

1] License Your Reptor Enterprise Manager

Your Reptor Accelerator will not optimize traffic unless it is licensed. A fully functional trial license is available free for days, and requires registration.

2] Download and Install the Preconfigured Reptor Client

When you download and install the Reptor Client directly from your Reptor Enterprise Manager, it will automatically connect to its Enterprise Manager and immediately begin to optimize traffic if it finds any connected Reptor Virtual Appliances and Application Servers.

3] Configure Your Virtual Appliance

All that’s left to do is set up your Reptor Virtual Appliance and define Application Servers in your data center. Click here for information on configuring your Reptor Virtual Appliance.

Reptor Virtual Appliance

Note: Before passing traffic, it is imperative that you increase the disk space allocated to your Reptor Virtual Appliance.

1] License Your Reptor Virtual Appliance

Your Reptor Virtual Appliance will not optimize traffic unless it is licensed. You can license the Reptor Virtual Appliance through an existing Reptor Enterprise Manager installation (recommended), or as a standalone appliance. A fully functional trial license is available free for days, and requires registration.

2] Define Application Servers

Your Reptor Virtual Appliance should be deployed in your data center, close to your Application Servers. The Reptor Virtual Appliance is not a ‘bump in the wire’, carrying no risk of disrupting your network - if the Reptor Accelerator should fail for any reason, your application server traffic will not be interrupted. Click here for further information on deployment.

3] Accelerate Traffic to Remote Workers

Corporate resources are typically accessed by remote clients over a vpn. Remote workers should have the Reptor Client installed on their windows machines, and have access to the corporate data center. One easy way to ensure that remote workers are connected to the Reptor Virtual Appliance is to download a preconfigured Reptor Client directly from either your Reptor Virtual Appliance or Enterprise Manager. Once installed, the Reptor Client will automatically connect to the Reptor Enterprise Manager and immediately begin to optimize traffic without any further configuration.

For trialling purposes, you may want to push out the Reptor Client to a small subset of employees. The Reptor Virtual Appliance will not receive any traffic requests from your other employees, who will access your Application Servers as normal.

4] View Optimization Reports

Within minutes of Reptor Client activity, you will be able to view optimized traffic in your Reptor Virtual Appliance. If you have deployed a Reptor Enterprise Manager, these statistics will be available from its web-management interface.
