What is WAN Optimization?

Every day over 10 exabytes (1010GB) of data are transferred across Wide Area Networks (WAN)
This includes banking systems, government services, schools, hospitals, industry, and all public traffic on the internet and World Wide Web.
The problem is that much of this data moves inefficiently. Bandwidth is wasted on repeated transfer of the same data – data that could be greatly compressed. The result is money wasted, slower response times, and user frustration.
Replify reduces bandwidth consumption and improves application performance by optimizing data before it travels across the WAN. We achieve this through a layered approach that removes redundant data (through a process called de-duplication), accelerates transfer protocols and minimises the effects of latency and packet loss.
This process is fully integrated and invisible, the only thing users see is faster applications, improved transfer times, and reduced costs.
Our 4-Layered-Process
Protocol Optimization
Replify recognises common protocols and enhances them. “Chatty” protocols like CIFS become more efficient, HTTP headers are compressed, and encrypted SSL/TLS traffic can be safely accelerated (with the right keys)
De-Duplication
Our intelligent caching engine identifies repeated byte patterns across any protocol, storing them once and sending lightweight references instead of full data. This works for uploads and downloads
Compression
After de-duplication, data is further reduced using lossless compression. Often halving the remaining size for formats like XML, Office docs, database queries, and web traffic
TCP Optimization
Replify tunes TCP to deal with latency and packet loss, reuses optimized WAN connections, and cuts unnecessary round-trips to make applications more responsive

How does Replify WAN Optimization work?
By using a number of acceleration techniques, Replify Accelerator is able to reduce the amount of data transferred between the end user and the cloud service.

What Cloud Services do you work with?
We work with pretty much any cloud service going.
However we’re not restricted to only the big services such as Microsoft 365 Copilot.
We can accelerate any cloud application, including those in your own private cloud.
We can also accelerate applications in your own data centre. Remember the cloud is just someone else’s data centre!
How is it deployed?
You simply install our appliance on your cloud platform. You then install our client software on your end user device.
Alternatively you can deploy an appliance at a remote site and route all your users’ traffic through this appliance. In this case, no client software is installed at all.

What do you do with my data?
Nothing! Replify Accelerator is hosted by you on your chosen cloud platform. Replify Ltd does not have any access to your appliance and cannot access any of your data.
Is it compatible with all applications?
Yes. All applications will work with Replify Accelerator installed. However the benefits of Accelerator may differ for each application.
Can I buy direct?
Of course! But we often recommend that if you are not in the UK or Ireland, you might want to purchase through one of our partners to help with time zone and language barriers.
Is it Secure?
Yes, we use TLS v1.3 to secure your data (even if your cloud provider doesn’t). We don’t store any user credentials and we don’t bypass any authentication mechanisms.

Does it change how my remote workers work?
Not at all. They will work in the exact same way as they do without Accelerator. Apart from the performance improvements they will see, they will probably be completely unaware that there is a new application running on their device.
